Heart To Heart Top Ten Audio Playlist

Heart To Heart Top Ten Audio Playlist

If you read my last post, you’ll know I had sixty songs on constant rotation while writing Heart To Heart. Like Blood To Blood‘s playlist, the compilation of songs reflect my obsession with always playing music while writing or doing anything in general.

Some of the songs were played more than others, and I always like to check out the “Number of Plays” column in iTunes to get a glance at which tunes I played more than others. Most of this list features female artists that I pretty much wrote to non-stop. The wildcard in the bunch is a song from the Johnny Depp starrer Dark Shadows that was never even released (don’t ask me how it got it in my playlist, I’ll plead the fifth if you do). The only other soundtrack song comes from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire; Santigold’s goose pimple-inducing “Shooting Arrows At The Sky.”

This audio playlist features the Top 10 of the list in order of plays, starting with the most played. For the entire official list check here. Enjoy the tunes!

RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman

RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman

Success isn’t what makes you happy. It really isn’t. Success is doing what makes you happy and doing good work and hopefully having a fruitful life. If I’ve felt like I’ve done good work, that makes me happy. The success part of it is all gravy.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Imdb profile

I’ll never forget seeing Hoffman’s work for the first time. It was Boogie Nights, back in the early 2000s. Going in, I had no idea the flick was about the 70s porn industry in Los Angeles, and was a little shocked that the film, despite its subject matter, was so good. One reason was the brilliant characterization Hoffman brought to his character.

Through the years, he continued to deliver seamless characters, and although he was referred to as a character actor in Hollywood–a sign of respect in the industry, an acknowledgement among peers that you are an artist–he also proved to be a worthy leading man as seen in Capote.

I’ll always respect his devotion to doing good work, doing right by the characters he portrayed and focusing on the love of the craft. RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Gorgeous! They also have a bunch of great City of Bones cast photos, including one of Jonathan Rhys Myers who is cast as Valentine. They’ve already photoshopped the white hair on him, lol.

If you haven’t started to read the books this movie is based on, you might want to start now. City of Bones will be coming out in August 2013, so you have a little time to get caught up. Visit Ms. Clare’s Goodreads page or her blog to get information on her as well as well as every book within the Mortal Instruments series.

Thanks to Just Jared for the title treatment heads up!

Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Dracula and Mortal Instruments

What do Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Dracula and Mortal Instruments have in common?

Rhys Meyers is in negotiations to play Valentine in the film version of Mortal Instruments. And if that wasn’t exciting enough he’s also set to portray Dracula in the upcoming TV series.

I fell in love with JHM when he did Bend It Like Beckham ( I was so jealous of Parminder Nagra’s character getting to kiss him and what not). Of course he was absolutely brilliant in The Tudors; heck it’s arguable that his incredible talent made that show the classic it is. Henry VIII never looked so sexy…

Either way, it’s about time Meyers got a role in a fantasy production; I think the closest he ever came to the genre was the Julie Taymor-directed Titus, which took Shakespeare to a whole ‘nother level. JHM’s crazy, bad-boy Irish stare-down glare will be perfect in both of these productions.  He’ll be the most fascinating Dracula since Gary Oldman. I can’t wait! Can you?

Just in case you missed that Jess and Joe kiss from Bend It Like Beckham… here it is. Enjoy!

Lillian over at SciMafia posted a synopsis of City Of Bones. Thanks Zenbitch!

Anna Karenina Trailer

If you haven’t already, check out the Anna Karenina trailer below.

I loved Keira Knightley in 2005’s Pride and Prejudice (my absolute favorite version of the film, although not necessarily my favorite all-time Mr. Darcy). I can’t wait to see her in this with Jude Law. Now if she’d only do another movie with Jonathan Rhys Meyers aka Mr. HOT (they worked well together in Bend It Like Beckham).
